The Council is the accountable body for the Ipswich Town Deal - £25m of government funding for 11 projects to improve Ipswich. The 11 projects are:
· Public Realm
· Greener Ipswich
· Academy of Yacht Building
· Digital Town Centre
· Integrated Care Academy
· Pedestrian Cycle Bridge
· Tech Campus / Construction Centre
· Town Centre Regeneration Fund
· Re-using the Old Post Office
· Pauls Silo
· Shopping parades
It is expected that all the detailed business cases will be signed off by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities before the end of March 2023. Following these sign offs, it will be necessary for the Council to enter into a number of agreements with partners, procure goods and services, enter into contracts etc to enable the delivery of the projects. In some cases, these matters will constitute Key Decisions.
