C/24/16 To Consider a Report from Councillor Ross on Council Housing Rents 2025/26. Additional documents:
Minutes: It was RESOLVED on a motion MOVED by Councillor Ross and SECONDED by Councillor Rae:
a) that an increase to council housing rents, both social and affordable, from 1 April 2025, in line with the Government guideline of 2.7% for the financial year 2025/26 be approved;
b) that a a cap at Local Housing Allowance rates for any affordable council house rent annual increase be approved.
c) that the charges set out for sheltered schemes at Appendix 1 to the report be approved for the financial year 2025/26, with a phased approach to remove the cost subsidy over 3 years to be used.
d) that an increase of 2.7% from 1 April 2025 for housing, garage, and hard standing rents be approved for the financial year 2025/26. |

that in accordance with the report and the Local Authority (Calculation of Council Tax Base) (England) Regulations 2012, the amount calculated by Ipswich Borough Council as its Council Tax Base for the financial year 2025/26 be 40,236. |
