OD/21/87 Mayo Court Boiler Works

Decision Maker: Officer Decision

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

One of IBC’s sheltered schemes, Mayo Court, requires one of its two existing boilers to be replaced. This is due to a leaking heat exchanger highlighted as part of routine maintenance and servicing.

Three competitive quotations were sourced by IBC’s Procurement Team for the replacement of the existing Imax 120kW condensing boiler. The most competitively priced returned tender was from Aaron Services in the sum of £14,812.83 and can be funded from existing budgets.

The option to overhaul/repair the existing boiler was considered but given that replacement components of the existing boiler plant would not be economical and repairs were unlikely to provide a guaranteed reliable heating system, replacement of the system was considered the best long term option.

Decision:

To award the contract to Aaron Services in the sum of £14,812.83 and can be funded from existing budgets.

Reason:

To replace an existing boiler at Mayo Court, one of IBC’s sheltered schemes and to provide a reliable heating system.
