OD/21/10 Needham Market Aerials

Decision Maker: Officer Decision

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

The communal TV aerial systems contract for the Council’s communal buildings was tendered in open competition and commenced on 1st April 2016 for a four year period until 31st March 2020 with an option to extend by up to a maximum of 2 years on a year by year basis. The contract was extended in March 2020 for 1-year duration and a decision has been taken to extend the contract for a second 1-year duration as per the terms of the original contract agreement.

The value of the contract between 2017 and 2020 has been less than £7,000 per year and hence the anticipated contract value for one additional year will not exceed £10,000.

Decision:

To extend the contract for a second 1-year duration as per the terms of the original contract agreement. The existing contractor (Needham Market Aerials) has confirmed that they will accept the same terms and conditions and rates in compliance with the contract agreement, which complies with Public Contracts Regulations.

Reason: The existing contract has been very successful, and it makes sense to extend the contract for a further year, whilst a new long-term contract is procured.

The existing contractor has performed above the expected standards and demonstrated that they capable of continuing to provide the level of service required, the option to extend the contract by a further year was considered the most economically advantageous option based on the tendered rates.
