The Town Deal and Ipswich Vision Board have agreed to appoint a ‘search firm’ to support the recruitment of a new independent Chair.

Three consultancies were offered the opportunity to bid for the work (all three did submit written bids). A selection panel comprising the Vice Chancellor of the University of Suffolk, the Executive Director for Growth, Highways and Infrastructure of the County Council and the Chief Executive of the Borough Council interviewed all three parties and unanimously determined to offer the appointment to Starfish Search Limited – who were considered the best in terms of quality of bid and value for money (£16,000 exc VAT).

It has been agreed to fund 50% of the fee from the Council’s Town Deal budget (within the Economic Development budget) and 50% from Pot B of Enterprise Zone Funding.

To award the work to Starfish Search Ltd.

Reason:

To ensure decision is properly made and recorded – awarding the work to the best quality and best value bid.
