Following a procurement exercise a contract was awarded to Datatank (who are the current provider of the service) through the G-Cloud 12 framework for the provision of a singe person discount review. The contract is for one year with the option to extend for a further year.

The reasons this decision has been taken are:

·         The activity is 80% part funded by Suffolk County Council (SCC). They have confirmed the funding is for 2022/23 only. SCC have confirmed that they want to look at alternatives to their funding going forward.

·         The activity is 10% part funded by the PCC.

·         Companies listed as offering this service on the G-Cloud 12 framework have been considered.

·         Datatank are 1p per transaction more expensive than the cheapest solution on offer although factoring the cost of moving to a new provider (setting up interfaces, new document templates etc), there would be no financial gain from changing suppliers for a one year contract.

·         The total spend in 20/21 was £25k and in 21/22 it was £23k. The total spend for the next two years is forecast £48,362.

·         Taking into account the above this solution represents the best value for money.
