The Council owns and operates several public car parks in Ipswich, including the Crown Car Park located on Charles Street, Ipswich IP1 3HS.

Due to Ipswich Music Day festival taking place on Sunday-3rd July 2022 at Christchurch Park, there will be an increase in the requirement of parking facilities at this location, as a result high activity level on this day, the opening hours will be required to be extended as follow: 3rd July 2022 (Sunday) From 08:30-18:00 to 08:30-21:00.

Signage will be placed to inform users of the car park of the extended operating opening hours both when it will close and in advance of the extended closing time. This will help to minimise the

shortage of parking facilities for the event.

The main alternative would be not to increase the opening hours but the requirement of parking facilities for this event will increase the car park occupancy level for that period and it will not be a waste to the operating cost of the car park.

To utilise the powers within the Ipswich Borough Council (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2020 to extend the operating opening hours of Crown Car Park for a temporary period (expected to be on Sunday-3rd July 2022).
