A procurement process has been undertaken by officers from the Council’s Procurement team to identify a preferred supplier for provision of a trailed gang mowing attachment, to be used with a John Deere agricultural tractor. The gang mowing attachment will be used by the Parks & Cemeteries Service to cut grass on all large Parks and Open Spaces and sports pitches.

Two bids were received. A validation process was carried out by officers from the Council’s Parks team, who concluded that the bid submitted by Ernest Doe & Sons Ltd did demonstrate value for money, quality and suitability.

As part of the bidding process annual servicing costs were requested. The successful bidder quoted £975 per annum for a full-service including set of blades, oil and belts. The servicing package offers good value. Therefore, as part of this procurement, three years’ servicing will be procured.
