Decision details

The Council owns and operates several public car parks in Ipswich, including the Bond Street Car Park located on Bond Street, Ipswich, IP4 1JE.

Works are required for the repairs and maintenance of the surface of the car park and as such, in order that these works can be carried out safely, a decision has been made to temporarily close the car park on Monday 14th March and Tuesday 15th March 2022.

Signage will be placed to inform users of the car park of the temporary closure both when it is closed and in advance of the closure and alternative public parking is available nearby. This will help to minimise any lost income to the Council and inconvenience to the public.

The main alternative would be to not carry out the repair works but these works are required to avoid a health and safety risk to the users of the car park.

To utilise the powers within the Ipswich Borough Council (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2020 to close Bond Street Car Park for a temporary period.

Reason:

To allow for repairs and maintenance works to be carried out to the surface of the car park.
