The Council owns and operates several public car parks in Ipswich, including the Portman Road B Car Park located on Portman Road, Ipswich.
The Council has received an internal request from the Project & Support team to suspend 6 parking bays in the car park on Saturday 5 February 2022. This request has been submitted as part of the Safer Street 3 project which is aiming to reduce crime in the Norwich Road area. The bays will be required to locate an advertising van with a digital screen on the side to promote the project. The bays will be along the edge of the car park facing Portman Road A Car Park to maximise publicity.
The potential lost income for the suspension of the bays will be funded by the project so no income will be lost as a result of the bay suspension.
As such, a decision has been made to utilise the powers within the Ipswich Borough Council (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2020 to suspend 6 bays in Portman Road B Car Park to allow the advertising vehicle to be located and the project promoted.
To suspend 6 parking bays in Portman Road Car Park B on Saturday 5 February 2022.
Reason:
