Procurement of trees and whips for Treescapes project.

A procurement exercise has been undertaken to identify a preferred supplier for the supply of trees and whips for the Treescapes project.

Two bids were submitted, a validation process was carried out by officers from the Council’s Parks Team and the bid submitted by Botanica Nursery and Arboretum was found to demonstrate best value for money and quality.

The decision made was to award a contract to Botanica Nursery and Arboretum for the supply of trees and whips.

The estimated value of this contract is £21,758 for the purchase and supply of trees and whips.

The planting of the trees and whips will be carried out by the Council’s Wildlife Rangers & Grounds Maintenance Teams.

The project is majority funded by the Forestry Commission who require the Council to monitor the trees and whips for three years beyond this season’s winter planting.
