Purpose:

The Council’s Executive resolved to replace 4 traditional toilet blocks within the parks listed below with composting toilets that include waterless urinals and baby changing table. These units are to be fully accessible for disabled users.

 

i) Castle Hill recreation ground (Congreve Rd)

ii) Dumbarton Road recreation ground

iii) Murray Road recreation ground

iv) Whitehouse Park (Norwich Rd)

 

A procurement excercise has been undertaken by officers from the Council’s Procurement team via the Suffolk Sourcing Portal inviting bids for the supply only of composting toilets.

 

Only one bid was submitted, a validation process was carried out by officers from the Council’s parks team and the sole bid submitted was found to demonstrate value for money and quality

Decision:

To award a contract to Natsol. The estimated value of this contract is £62,000 including contingency for the purchase and supply of equipment.

 

Reason:

To supply the composting toilets that meet the Council’s specification. The bid was found to demonstrate value for money and quality.
