Ipswich Borough Council is proposing to carry out a refurbishment of the Front of House areas of the Regent Theatre (welfare, bar areas and circulation etc.).

Following a competitive tendering process in 2019, KLH Architects provided the most competitive bid at 7.27 % of the final construction cost. The project is now ready to proceed, albeit at a possible increased project cost, which has increased the value of the KLH appointment.

Following discussions with Legal and procurement, KLH are willing to maintain their current % fee proposal, it is therefore proposed to appoint KLH Architects at 7.27% (at an indicative cost of £145,000). which will be funded from existing allocated capital budgets and represents good value for money.

To award the Architectural services to KLH.

Reason: To allow for the delivery of the design services to be progressed.
