Ipswich Borough Council require the refurbishment of the two traction lifts which service Grafton House. The lifts have been in service for 14 years and have recently had reliability issues.
The works will involve the refurbishment of the mechanical assembly of the lifts, including the installation of new interiors and entrance ways and the upgrade of Lift 2 to an evacuation lift (to match Lift 1). The works have been designed to comply with all current relevant standards and regulations and will provide a reliable, high quality installation, engineered for an intended economical lifecycle of 20 years.
Following an open procurement process, the most economically advantageous compliant bid, which also met the quality criteria was provided by Amalgamated Lifts.
The contract value of the bid is £239,296.00.
The contract will be funded from existing allocated capital budgets.
To award the contract to refurbish the Grafton House Lifts to Amalgamated Lifts. The contract value of the bid is £239, 296.00
Reason: To allow refurbishments works to take place, to improve the performance and reliability of the lifts.
