The Council owns and operates a number of public car parks in Ipswich, including the Portman Road A car park located at the junction of Portman Road and Sir Alf Ramsey Way.

The Council has received a request from Ipswich Town Football Club to hire this car park from Monday 21^st June 2021 to Friday 25th June 2021 inclusive.

The car park is located adjacent to several other public car parks which, at the current time, have sufficient unused capacity to enable the Portman Road A car park to be hired to Ipswich Town Football Club without this preventing those members of the public who are parking on the car park at the moment from being able to continue to park in the same area during the period in question.

To close Portman Road A car park to the general public for the period in

question and hire it to Ipswich Town Football Club for their exclusive use at a chargeable rate.

Reason: To utilise the powers within the Ipswich Borough Council (Off-Street

Parking Places) Order 2020 to close the car park to the general public. At the current time the adjacent car parks have sufficient unused capacity to enable the Portman Road A car park to be hired to Ipswich Town Football Club without this preventing those members of the public who are parking on the car park at the moment from being able to continue to park in the same area during the period in question.
