Purpose:

Ipswich Borough Council requires 4 x 32t Domestic Refuse Collection vehicles to replace current vehicles that have reached the end of their useful life.

 

The Crown Commercial Services Framework Agreement – RM6060 has been used to identify suitable vehicles. This framework allows a comparison of vehicle specifications, pricing and selection of the vehicle most appropriate.

Decision:

The decision made was to purchase four of these vehicles from Dennis Eagle Ltd at a total cost of £727,620. The best value vehicle was identified at a total cost of £181,905 including the additional options specified.

 

Reason:

To replace aged and expensive to maintain vehicles.
