Ipswich Borough Council are proposing to carry out Shell and Core works in relation to the refurbishment of the old Burtons Warehouse on the St Peters Dock Waterfront site. Once the building is refurbished it will be let to a 3rd party.

Architectural Design Services are required to be provided by an external consultancy in order to progress with the required design for the shell and core works.

In order to progress with this fast track project, the architect who undertook the initial feasibility development and submission of planning permission is best placed to progress with these works. The same architect is also carrying on works for the incoming tenant and their internal fit out works.

Following direct negotiations with Officers EDRM Ltd have bid a sum of £39,000.00 (excl. VAT) which will be funded from existing allocated capital budgets and represents good value for money.

To waive contract standing orders to allow the appointment of EDRM.

Reason: To allow for the requisite pre and post (main contract) design services to be progressed.
