Purpose:

Ipswich Borough Council is proposing to demolish the existing building at 86-98 Princes and has therefore tendered the demolition works on the Councils online procurement system.

 

The scope of works for the project include demolishing the existing structure and removal of the foundations and drainage. The site will be levelled using reclaimed crushed concrete from the demolition and fenced off with waist high timber railings.

 

Following an open procurement process, bids were received from a total of five demolition contractors. The most economically advantageous tender was submitted by Clarke Demolition Company Limited for the sum of £95,218.00 (excl. VAT) which will be funded from existing allocated capital budgets.

Decision:

To award the Contract to Clarke Demolition Company Limited.

 

Reason: To enable works to proceed within given timescales.
