Purpose:

Ipswich Borough Council is currently undertaking Phase 2A infrastructure works at Eastern Gateway which involves construction of a road, utilities and drainage, predominantly to service Development Area 16.

 

The occupier of Development Area 16 (Amazon) requires the following capital works to be completed in order to help future proof its site;

 

- High Voltage Switch (UK Power Networks) = £ 31,737.72

- Associated Design and Civil Work = £ 29,730.60

 

- Hydrant Main (Anglian Water) = £ 20,692.30

- Associated Design and Civil Work = £ 30,046.89

 

Total = £ 112,207.51

 

The Sale Agreement, signed on 19th February 2020, will be varied to include the items listed above. All costs (£112,207.51) will be reimbursed to IBC by Amazon in full as per the agreed variation contract (18691).

Decision:

In accordance with contract standing orders to allow the contract variation to proceed as set out above.

 

Reason: To vary the contract to enable the installation of the HV Switch, Hydrant Main and associated work to future proof Development Area 16 and the wider site and the reimbursement of the cost of this work to IBC
