The Council owns and operates a number of public car parks in Ipswich, including West End Road Car Park, West End Road, Ipswich IP1 2DZ.

There is requirement to close off 90 bays for 2 days and 1 full day’s closure of the car park so that works can be completed to the tree stumps that have previously been cut down and for the whole car park bays relined. Works being carried out by a Building Services contractor and over seen by the Major Capital Schemes team.

The programme of works is as follows:

• Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd March – Closure of 90 bays for tree stump works

• Friday 24th March 2023 – Full car park closure for full relining of bays

The main alternative would be to not make good of the Health & Safety issue of the tree stumps and also to not reline the car park, which is causing issues with enforcing for out of bays due to the lining being of such poor visibility.

To utilise the powers within the Ipswich Borough Council (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2022 to suspend 90 bays on Wednesday 22nd & Thursday 23rd March and 1 full day closure on Friday 24th March 2023, in West End Road Car Park.

To accommodate works that need to be carried out.
