Ipswich Borough Council is continuing the infrastructure works of Phase 2B at Eastern Gateway, Sproughton Road.

To enable the delivery and the continued sale of Plot 10, Anglian Water have provided a quote to provide the infrastructure works to connect plot 10 to the water mains.

The quote received is for £47,694.59.

A decision to waive contract standing orders and direct award to Anglian Water has been made, for environmental, sourcing & operational reasons. Anglian water is the only supplier that can provide the entire installation and within the timescales required.

If the exemption from Contract standing orders had not been made, the works would not be undertaken in time, resulting in the site not being ready for the incoming tenant and therefore making IBC in breach of contract.

To waive contract standing orders as there is only one potential provider to place the order for infrastructure works and water connection.

Reason:

To provide a water connection to plot 10 to ensure delivery of the agreed infrastructure.
