Purpose:

The Greener Ipswich Project (Towns Fund) identified the Wolsey Square as a project to create a planted seated area in celebration of the coronation of King Charles III and the Wolsey 550 Anniversary.

 

An open tender procurement exercise has been undertaken by officers from the Council’s Parks & Cemeteries and Procurement teams using the exercise to identify a supplier for planters with seating and two bids were received.

 

Judging the returns submitted, a validation process was carried out by officers from the Council’s Parks & Cemeteries and Chair of the Oasis Project the quote submitted by was found to demonstrate value for money.

 

As part of the validation process only one supplier was able to supply the items within the specified timeframe.

 

Townscapes Products Ltd were the successful bidder.

 

The estimated value of this contract is £16,970 for the purchase of 6 Unity concrete benches with hardwood sapele seat top finished in yorkstone buff and 10 Unity concrete planters finished in yorkstone buff.

Decision:

To award the contract to Townscapes Products Ltd.

To supply the items required within the specified timeframe.
