Purpose:

The Council owns and operates a number of public car parks in Ipswich, including Elm Street Car Park, Ipswich.

 

Major Capital Schemes has requested for 15 Parking spaces to be suspended on Wednesday 1st March 2023 for some investigation into the construction around the ACO drain by Geosphere Environmental Ltd.

 

Signage will be placed to inform users of the car park of the suspension of 15 spaces in advance.

 

This will help to minimise any inconvenience to the public.

 

The main alternative would be to not suspend the 15 spaces in the car park, but this is required due to health & safety reasons.

Decision:

To utilise the powers within the Ipswich Borough Council (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2022 to suspend 15 spaces in Elm Street Car Park for a temporary period (expected to be Wednesday 1st March 2023).

 

Reason:

To allow for the spaces to be suspended in the Car Park.
