Purpose:

Procurement of Landscaping plants and Tree schemes in various Ipswich projects.

Decision:

A procurement exercise has been undertaken by officers from the Council’s Procurement team using the ITQ form of tender invitation to identify preferred suppliers for supply of Landscaping and Tree plants for multiple projects.

 

Three bids were submitted, a validation process was carried out by officers from the Council’s parks team and the bids submitted by Amethyst Horticulture Ltd, Blocsphere Facilities Management and UrbanForestry were found to demonstrate value for money and quality for the many individual species required.

 

The decision made was to award a contract to Amethyst Horticulture Ltd for the supply of seeds and trees.

 

The estimated total value of this contract is £10,504.55 for the purchase and supply of plants and trees.

 

The planting of the trees will be carried out by the Council’s Wildlife Rangers & Grounds Maintenance Teams.

 

The trees a largely funded through a successful bid to the HM Commemorative projects via Trees for Cities

– to create a Queen’s Avenue at Murray Park
