Procurement of Landscaping plants and Tree schemes in various Ipswich projects.

A procurement exercise has been undertaken by officers from the Council’s Procurement team using the ITQ form of tender invitation to identify preferred suppliers for supply of Landscaping plants and Trees for multiple projects.

Three bids were submitted, a validation process was carried out by officers from the Council’s parks team and the bids submitted by Amethyst Horticulture Ltd, Blocsphere Facilities Management and Urban Forestry were found to demonstrate value for money and quality for the many individual species required.

The decision made was to award a contract to Blocsphere Facilities Management for the supply of plants and trees.

The estimated total value of this contract is £12,535 for the purchase and supply of plants and trees.

The planting will be carried out by the Council’s Wildlife Rangers & Grounds Maintenance Teams.

The whips / small trees are funded through a successful bid to the HM Commemorative projects via Trees for Cities – to create a Pop-Up Forest at Gippeswyk Park.
