Decision details

The Council is responsible for the management of on-street paid for parking places in Ipswich on behalf of Suffolk County Council who are the Traffic Authority. This includes the parking place (‘car park’) at Cromwell Square, Ipswich, IP1 1TR.

Suffolk & North Essex NHS have requested the use of 14 parking bays in Cromwell Square to position a bus which is visiting various locations in the region, educating people on entry level roles within the health & social care sector. They will be conducting interviews with candidates and giving conditional offers of employment on the day. The event would take place on Thursday 12 January 2023 and the bays would be suspended between the hours of 06.00hrs and 18.30hrs.

Suffolk & North Essex NHS will be charged for the loss of income and a suspension fee.

To utilise the powers within the Suffolk County Council (Borough of Ipswich)

(Stopping, Waiting and Loading Prohibitions and Restrictions and On-Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2019 (as amended) to suspend 14 parking bays in Cromwell Square parking place between 06.00hrs and 18.30hrs on Thursday 12 January 2023.
