IBC Community Support has been awarded grant funding from the Home Office Neighbourhood Crime Unit under the Safer Streets 4 schemes with support funding from the Suffolk Office of Police & Crime Commissioners. Applications and action plans were developed in collaboration with the Police & Crime Commissioner Office, Suffolk Police, Suffolk County Council and Ipswich Central when applying for the funds.
1. A decision has been made to award a contract to promote independent crime reporting methods to Crimestoppers Campaigns. The value of the contract is £28,800 running January to March 2023. It was decided to exempt the decision from Contract Standing Orders, on the basis that the service required could only be supplied by a single supplier.
2. A decision has been made to award a contract to Suffolk County Council to improve lighting in St Matthews Street Subway. The contract value is £134,400 and is to be completed by end of March 2023. This is a non-relevant contract and therefore not subject to Contract Standing Orders .The subway is a Suffolk County asset and requires Suffolk County approved contractors
and technical specification.
3. A decision has been made to award a contract to Ipswich Central (Locus Management Solutions) for project actions concerning town centre licensed premises, retail and businesses premises.
The contract is aligned to the work Ipswich Central undertakes as the Business Improvement District and extends current measures. The contract value is £58,490 and is to be completed by end of March 2023. It was decided to exempt the decision from Contract Standing Orders on the
basis that the service required is aligned to the objectives of the Business Improvement District and can only be provided through this supplier.
4. A decision has been made to award a contract to provide a safe hub bus to Suffolk Outreach Service. The value of the contract is £6,750 and is to be completed by end of March 2023. It was decided to exempt the decision from Contract Standing Orders, on the basis that the service required could only be supplied by a single supplier.
Whilst the contract value falls below threshold for an exemption it is possible that if the Council receives further funding a higher amount could be spent with this supplier.
5. A decision has been made to award a contract to extend medical support for the public during peak night-time periods provided by St John Ambulance. The extended provision adds to arrangements made by the East of England Ambulance service. The value of the contract is £5,850 and is to be completed by end of March 2023. It was decided to exempt the decision
from the Contract Standing Orders, on the basis that the service required could only be supplied by a single supplier.
Whilst the contract value falls below threshold for an exemption it is possible that if the Council receives further funding a higher amount could be spent with this supplier.
