Ipswich Museum closed on the 2nd of October 2022 ahead of redevelopment. The redevelopment will see repairs and conservation works to the building and the redisplay of its galleries, introduction of a café and improved facilities such as a new lift and accessible toilets. Due to the scale of the project, specialist heritage nature and the Council’s existing capital project demands, officers identified the need for specialist project management support to deliver this £8.7m project successfully. The appointment of consultancy
services rather than a staff position was required as a result of challenges to recruitment for this role.
A full tender process was conducted by the Council and eleven bids were received from different suppliers, of which Provellio Ltd were the most economically advantageous at a value of £84,050.64 (excl. VAT).
The contract will be funded from existing allocated budgets and represents good value for money.
The project appointment is anticipated to run from the end of 2022 through to the project’s completion in 2025.
To approve the appointment of Provellio Ltd.
Reason:
To provide project management services that will enable the redevelopment of Ipswich Museum within the given timescales and budget.
