Ipswich Borough Council operates a 2 for 1 tree planting replacement scheme for any trees planted within its parks and greenspaces, which are replaced on an annual basis.

A tree donation scheme also operates enabling members of the public to fund a donation tree in memorial of a loved one or as a gift to a park.

A procurement exercise has been undertaken by the Parks Team with officers from the Council’s Procurement team for the purchase and supply of donation and replacement trees.

Four bids were submitted, and a validation process was carried out by officers from the Council’s parks team and the bids submitted by Barcham, Palmstead, Botanica Nurseries and East of England Apples & Orchards were found to demonstrate value for money and quality for the many individual species required.
