Purpose:

A procurement exercise has been undertaken by officers from the Council’s Procurement team using the ITQ form of tender invitation to identify preferred suppliers for supply of Landscaping and Tree plants for multiple projects.

 

Four bids were submitted, a validation process was carried out by officers from the Council’s parks team and the bids submitted by Palmstead Nurseries were found to demonstrate value for money and quality for the many individual species required.

 

The estimated total value of these contracts is £23,397.30 for the purchase and supply of plants and trees.

 

These schemes will be delivered by both the Council’s Wildlife Rangers and Grounds Maintenance Teams.

 

The projects are majority funded by the Forestry Commission who require us to monitor trees for three years beyond this season’s winter planting, to be via the Tree Inspector and P&C staff.

Decision:

To appoint Palmstead Nurseries at an estimated total value of £23,397.30 for the purchase and supply of plants and trees.

 

Reason:

For the procurement of Plants to deliver landscaping schemes and a variety of trees following successful grant funding from the Forestry Commission for various projects across Ipswich.
