Decision details

Ipswich Borough Council are undertaking design works in relation to the refurbishment of the former Burtons Building on St Peters Dock. The basement of this building has extensive rubble and debris present, which is preventing the design team access to undertake the required structural surveys to define the extent of remedial works required to the building.

Tenders were invited via the Council’s e tendering system and three bids were received from different contractors, of which Clarke Demolition Company were the most economically advantageous at a value of £135,372.00 (excl. VAT).

The contract will be funded for existing allocated budgets and represents good value for money.

To approve the appointment of Clarke Demolition Company.

To enable works to proceed within given timescales.
