Environmental Protection require a contractor to carry out the data monitoring, data management, quality control and reporting etc. as part of the DEFRA funded domestic burning project, developed towards achieving the targets within the Air Quality Action Plan and to meet the legal duty on the Council under the Environment Act 1995.
A competitive tender process was held and evaluated with AECOM providing the best tender response.
The contract is for a one-off project to be undertaken by September 2024 utilising DEFRA funding and available budget within Environmental Protection as previously identified. The contract is for the sum of £109,937.00.
Alternative options conceded and why rejected:
The possibility of undertaking this work in-house was rejected as the team do not currently have the capacity or resources to carry out this specialist work.
To appoint AECOM Limited to carry out data monitoring and associated tasks for the DEFRA funded domestic burning project.
