The Council owns and operates a number of public car parks in Ipswich, including Crown Car Park, Ipswich, IP1 3HS.

Due to the midweek home football match taking place at Ipswich Town Football Club stadium, there will be an increase in the requirement of parking facilities at this location, as a result high activity level on this day, the opening hours of Crown Car Park will be required to be extended as follows:

• 4th October 2022 (Tuesday) From 08:00-18:00 to 08:00-23:30.

• 18th April 2023 (Tuesday) From 08:00-18:00 to 08:00-23:30.

Signage will be placed to inform users of the car park of the extended operating opening hours both when it will close and in advance of the extended closing time. This will help to minimise the shortage of parking facilities for the event.

The main alternative would be not to increase the opening hours but the requirement of parking facilities for this event will increase the car park occupancy level for that period and it will not be a waste to the operating cost of the car park.

To utilise the powers within the Ipswich Borough Council (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2022 to extend the opening hours of the Crown Car Park for a temporary period (expected to be 4th October 2022 & 18th April 2023).
