OD/15/36 Loan of Objects from the Ipswich Borough Council Collections

This decision relates to two current loan requests from the following:

·                The first loan request is from the Bulldog Trust for an exhibition entitled ‘Beyond Beauty: Transforming the Body; Style and Adornment in Ancient Egypt’ to be held at their headquarters at 2 Temple Place, London from 30 January to 24 April 2016.  The request is for a total of 31 ancient Egyptian objects of which 13 are in store and 18 in display in Ipswich Museum.  The exhibition is financially supported by Arts Council England and entry for the public is free of charge.

·                     The second loan request is from Colchester Borough Council for a Victorian lady’s two-piece dress, made around 1885.  This is for a temporary display, ‘Alice in Wonderland’, at Hollytrees Museum, which runs until the end of February 2016. The dress is currently in store.


These loans are made in accordance with all relevant protocols and legislation.
