Gainsborough Sports Centre’s main sports hall floor requires regular resealing due to general wear and tear. This process is required every 3-5 years to maintain the standard of the floor for sport use. The hall was last sanded and resealed 3 years ago.
This also provides the opportunity to lay down Boccia court lines. Gainsborough Sports Centre has been home to a local Boccia club for over 10 years, with one of the regular customers achieving selection for the 2016 Rio Paralympics Games.
The hall will be closed from Tuesday 29 December to Thursday 31 December 2015 inclusive to allow for the floor to be scrubbed down, lines painted, seal applied and time for the seal to dry ready for use.
This work has been planned for the quietest time in the Centre’s programme and will not affect other areas of the facility, with the squash court, community room and indoor cycle studio and changing rooms remaining operational.
Customers will be informed of works 14 days before they begin, through posters and over the telephone. The XN booking system will be updated to ensure that court space cannot be hired out during this period.
