To award a new 3 ½ year contract to Ipswich Buses Ltd for the provision of Service 14 on a slightly modified route and timetable

Following a full competitive tender exercise undertaken on the Council’s behalf by Suffolk County Council, the decision taken is to award a new 3 ½ year contract to Ipswich Buses Ltd for the provision of Service 14 on a slightly modified route and timetable to that which currently operates.  The frequency of the service remains the same.

Consultation process

Consultations have taken place with the Portfolio Holder for Transport and, as this decision has been made during the pre-election period, with the Leader of the Council, as required by the Chief Executive’s delegation (10.1(k)).

Ward councillors for Gipping and Sprites ward have been informed that a tendering exercise was being undertaken and will also be informed of this decision.  None of them objected to the tendering exercise taking place.
