OD/19/123 Provision of temporary accommodation during the COVID-19 Pandemic

The following decision was made under delegation 10.1(c) of Section 5 of Part 3 of the Council’s Constitution.  That delegation gives the following authority to the Chief Executive:

“Exercise the Council's powers to prepare for and deal with any disaster or emergency affecting life or property in Ipswich.”

Consultation process

Prior to the Chief Executive taking the decision, consultation took place with the Leader of the Council, the Chair of the Suffolk Housing Accommodation Group (COVID19 Response), the Monitoring Officer and the Head of Housing and Community Services. The Chair of the Strategic Overview and Scrutiny Committee was also consulted and gave her permission for this urgent decision to be taken.
