Ipswich Borough Council are currently undertaking the first phase of infrastructure works at Sproughton Enterprise Park which involves construction of the spine road, utilities ducting and drainage.
The foul drainage pipework runs underneath a railway bridge over Sproughton Road. As a result the Council are required to enter into a Basic Asset Protection Agreement (BAPA) with Network Rail to ensure works are designed and undertaken in such a way to protect the foundations of the railway bridge from being undermined or damaged.
Network Rail will require payment for their services over the duration of the works, which include administration and management of their internal procedures, appointment of a Project Manager and Project Engineers and review of RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).
The maximum cost of the provision of their services is £24,000.00
Any fees left unspent will be returned by Network Rail to IBC upon completion of the drainage installation.
The Chief Operating Officer has waived Contract Standing Orders as there is only one potential provider.
