Work has been progressing in the Ipswich Housing Market Area with the authorities of Babergh, Mid Suffolk and Suffolk Coastal District Councils and Ipswich Borough Council to jointly commission evidence studies and prepare the joint or aligned Local Plan reviews.
Key strategic issues are being considered through the Ipswich Strategic Planning Area Board (formerly the Ipswich Policy Area) and the mechanism of a draft Statement of Common Ground between the authorities and Suffolk County Council. This report seeks approval of the revised terms of reference for the Ipswich Strategic Planning Area Board, and endorsement of the key parameters identified through the joint evidence base and draft Statement of Common Ground, as the basis for drafting the Ipswich Borough Council Local Plan Preferred Options document for public consultation in October.
