OD-17-46 Falcon Street Traffic Queues – Enforcement Funding

Officers are aware that on Saturdays in the run up to Christmas the demand for parking in the Buttermarket Shopping Centre car park exceeds the supply, approximately between about 10am and 3pm, and this results in people unlawfully causing an unnecessary obstruction of the road as they queue on Falcon Street waiting to get into the car park. This is causing a very significant delay to other traffic, especially buses, which frustrates the transport policies of both the Council and Suffolk County Council (SCC) in respect of wanting to encourage the use of public transport.
