OD-17-30 Loan of bones to Stoke High School from the Ipswich Borough Council collections

This decision relates to a loan request from the following:

Stoke High School, Ipswich (LO.2017.12)

This request is part of a joint interpretation project between the Museum and Stoke High School. It relates to the mammoth and other Ice Age mammal bones that were found during the construction of the school in 1976.

The loan would be for three years in the first instance with the possibility of renewal. This would be a good opportunity to work with a local school whose pupils may not have had much interaction with Ipswich Museum in the past. As well as a curator visiting the school, the pupils would be invited to come to Ipswich Museum to research the specimens and write the display text.
