The Council, working in partnership with Suffolk County Council (SCC), Ipswich Central and working within the wider auspices of the Ipswich Vision, has agreed to replace the current Ipswich Parking Strategy which dates from the 1990s. This is part of the ‘Ipswich Vision’ strategy which seeks to ensure that Ipswich has the type and level of town centre related parking provision it needs to support the local economy whilst taking into account environmental issues and the need to promote sustainable transport.
To assist with this, the Council has tendered for consultancy works. A panel of officers from IBC, SCC and NALEP (on behalf of Ipswich Central) interviewed the shortlisted bidders during w/c 15 August 2016 and scored the bids against agreed evaluation criteria. As a result of this, a decision has been made to award the consultancy works to WYG Transport. An alternative option would be to award the work to a different bidder but WYG scored the highest against the weighted evaluation criteria.
The decision is to award the contract to WYG Transport at a cost of £38,307.50.
The contract will be funded during the financial year 2016/17 and split 50:50 from Ipswich Borough Council (£19,153.75) and Suffolk County Council (£19,153.75).
