OD/18/38 Market Traffic Order

14/11/2018 - OD/18/38 Market Traffic Order

As such, an Order is being made to this effect and shall also apply to the section of highway on Cornhill between the junction with Tavern Street and the junction with Princes Street owing to the existence of one-way restrictions. The necessary traffic sign shall be placed by the Council’s Commercial Development team when the market is taking place.

Exemptions shall apply as stated in the Order, which include (but are not limited to) emergency service vehicles, statutory undertakers, local authority vehicles being used in pursuance of statutory powers or duties, market traders and permit holders.

An alternative option of requesting that Suffolk County Council, as the Traffic Authority, should make a Traffic Regulation Order to achieve the same effect was considered, but this option was rejected as it would be more expensive to implement and would result in the presence of additional permanent traffic signing in a conservation area.
