Ipswich Borough Council currently owns 28 – 50 Grimwade Street which is a mixture of commercial and residential units. The decision has been made to develop this site.
To complete the required development, the council needs to appoint an architect to provide suitable planning application & tender design drawings.
A schedule of works has been agreed with our internal client and this has been competitively tendered to five local architects. The best value bid was received from Hoopers at £9,000.
This is to be funded from the existing allocated capital budget.
To award the architect contract to Hoopers.
Reason: To progress the design proposals for the proposed development and allow a submission for planning approval, plus tendering of the project on the site which currently holds 28-50 Grimwade Street.
