Ipswich Borough Council has committed to repair the roof and upgrade the facilities at Christchurch Mansion. To allow this to happen the collections currently stored in the attics under the roof areas to be repaired need to be removed for their safety.


Following a competitive procurement process, three tenders were returned and evaluated on the basis of cost (50%), experience (35%) and storage environment (15%).


The winning supplier (Restore Ltd.) scored 86% under a competitive evaluation model. The second-placed supplier scored 76% respectively. The contract value is £47,435.12 plus VAT.


Decision: To approve the appointment of the specialist removals contractor.


Reason: To facilitate the progression of the Main Contractor that is already appointed to repair and upgrade the Christchurch Mansion.
