Following the introduction of the mobile working system to the Integrated Housing Management System (IHMS) an interface needs to be developed to ensure the ability for mobile officer using tablets to be able to access the IBC corporate Document Management System (ANITE). Cost £15,000 with breakeven within 18 months from the following benefits:
· Officers will no longer need to visit an IBC office to interrogate the system for document history, saving travel time, parking fees and the need to print documents. We anticipate this will save each officer approximately 30 minutes per day plus associated mileage savings which will increase productivity.
· Officers have more flexibility when working remotely allowing an up-to-date picture of any relevant supporting information when visiting tenants.
· Documents created remotely on the mobile devices are automatically interfaced back into the ANITE system avoiding the need for follow-up action when the officer returns to the office.
The ANITE system has the option to be configured for remote access from outside the IBC network but having assessed this with IBC ICT this method is not particularly suited to mobile devices and has no upload function (third bullet point above.) this feature is not currently in use at IBC.
No background documents.
Both suppliers – Northgate (ANITE) and Kirona (Mobile partner for IHMS) have been consulted, together with Andrew Manning, Systems Analyst (IBC) responsible for ANITE system. Their recommendation is to proceed as above.
