Variation of Existing Contracts - Property MOT's

Decision Maker: Officer Decision

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: Yes

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

As a result of the Council’s decision to increase the budget for ‘property MOT’ works by £10K the Council will have a requirement for additional works 2014/15 and a decision was required on the most efficient way of procuring this additional work.

Decision:

Any Declarations of Conflict of Interest in this matter: None

Decision: To vary existing previously tendered contract for works to the housing stock to procure any necessary required additional works until the end of the existing contracts in January 2015.

Reason: The option of inviting further tenders for the additional works was considered but it is more cost effective to vary the existing contracts as be the most cost effective way to use this small additional budget, saving on time/cost to procure these works for duration of seven months. All current contracts have previously been through a competitive tender process to ensure that the rates to be paid are value for money.
