Ipswich Borough Council are proposing to carry out urgent Asbestos removal of the rainwater goods at the Raeburn warehouse site.
Following a full Asbestos management survey, it was highlighted that multiple areas of the ACM rainwater goods have been damaged or degraded the warehouse beyond repair and required removal.
It was decided to use the SEC framework and direct appoint the works to a specialist contractor due to its urgent nature and risk to tenants and low value of the contract.
Following a survey and a quote of £20,353.40 the contractor Cablesheer Ltd. has been chosen to undertake the ACM removal. The quotation is considered good value for money and will be financed through existing budgetary allocations.
To agree the appointment of Cablesheer Ltd.
Reason: To remove damaged ACM’s rainwater goods.
