Purpose:

Ipswich Borough Council are currently undertaking the Phase 2A infrastructure works at Eastern Gateway which involves construction of a road, utilities and drainage, predominantly to service the developing of Development Area 16.

 

The occupier of Development Area 16 wishes to commence operations from 28th July 2020.

 

To assist the occupier in achieving this goal, Ipswich Borough Council’s contractor will undertake the following works, which will be reimbursed by the occupier under a variation deed.

 

·         Bringing forward the surfacing of the Phase 2A carriageway and entrances 1 and 2 into Development Area 16.

·         Surfacing of the Phase 2A pavements after Anglian Water have commissioned their new connection whilst the road is in use, providing appropriate traffic management to ensure works can be undertaken safely (traffic management to be provided by the occupier)

 

The existing contractor has provided the fee of £15,025 to complete the works listed above, which will be reimbursed in full by the occupier of Development Area 16. The occupier will also reimburse any fees incurred by IBC.

 

The Sale Agreement, signed on 19th February 2020, will be varied to include the items listed above. All costs (£112,207.51) will be reimbursed to IBC by Amazon in full as per the agreed variation contract (18691).

Decision:

In accordance with contract standing orders to allow the contract variation to proceed as set out above.

 

Reason: To vary the contract to enable the installation of the resurfacing works to Development Area 16 and the reimbursement of the cost of this work to IBC
