Decision Maker: Officer Decision
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: Yes
Is subject to call in?: No
The Council were invited to participate in the Direct Line Group Community Fund, whose priority was to support vulnerable people and provide assistance to people who need it immediately.
That the Council accepts financial support of £100,000 from the Direct Line Group Community Fund to provide essential supplies for homeless people in Ipswich during the Coronavirus emergency. The Borough Council will use this funding to buy dozens of ‘starter packs’ for families and individuals moving into the Council’s temporary accommodation.
Reason: The Direct Line Group Community Fund can make donations to registered charities, local authorities dispensing funds or mutual organisations with charitable objectives, where the priority is to support vulnerable people and get support into the hands of people who need it immediately.
Note: This decision is exempt from call-in as the need is urgent and the Funder wished to conclude the matter, and any delay may jeopardise the Council’s chances of receiving the funding.
